Messages to the King

These terms and conditions govern the submission and selection of messages, letters, poems, or any other communication (hereafter referred to as “Message”) to be considered for publication in the book “Messages to the King”. By submitting a Message through the website “Messages to the King”, participants agree to comply with these terms and conditions:

  1. Ownership and Rights:
    • By submitting a Message, the author grants sole right and ownership of the Message to themselves. No claim can be made by any party to the information provided in the Message.
  2. Selection and Publication:
    • The selection of Messages for publication in the book “Messages to the King” is at the sole discretion of the author.
    • The Messages chosen for publication will only be revealed on the day of the book release.
  3. Confirmation and Reward:
    • Participants with Messages selected for publication will be notified via email on the day of the book release.
    • Each selected participant will receive a signed copy of the book “Messages to the King” and a congratulatory certificate.
    • Upon receiving the book, participants must confirm its receipt via email within 10 working days. Failure to do so will result in the book being returned to the author, and no claim can be made against receiving the signed book.
  4. Media Exposure:
    • Participants whose Messages are published agree to have photos and exposure in any media or social media presented.
  5. Submission Deadline:
    • All Messages must be submitted by the specified closing date. No Messages will be accepted after the closing date.
  6. Winner Determination:
    • The winner will be solely determined by the author, and no interference or claims against the author’s decision will be entertained.
    • The honor or prize is having the selected Message published in the book “Messages to the King”. There is no cash or other rewards exchangeable for this prize.
  7. Eligibility:
    • The contest is open to individuals aged 5 years and older.

  • Participants under the age of 16 require parental consent and consent from the charity they represent or support.
  • The contest is only open to individuals who have directly received help from the charities supported by King Charles III and whose stories are genuine and verified by their respective charity.
  1. Contact Information:
    • Participants must provide accurate and clear contact details. The author and publisher will not be held liable for any issues arising from incorrect or missing contact information.
  2. Interaction with Publisher:
    • By entering the competition, participants agree to be willing to interact with the publisher for further marketing opportunities or any other activities related to their charity or the book.
  3. Exclusion:
    • Employees of the author or publisher and their immediate family members are excluded from participating in the competition.
  4. Changes and Cancellation:
    • The author reserves the right to change the rules without notice.
    • The author also reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time, and participants agree that the author and publisher shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.
  5. Not Sponsored or Endorsed by Social Media Platforms:
    • This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
    • Participants acknowledge that they are providing their information to the author and publisher and not to Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
  6. Release of Social Media Platforms:
    • By participating in this contest, participants release Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube from any responsibility or liability related to their participation in the contest.
    • Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the contest should be directed to the author and publisher, not to Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
  7. Eligibility for UK and EU Citizens:
    • The contest is open only to citizens of the United Kingdom and the European Union.
    • Participants must be legal residents of the UK or an EU member state to enter the competition.
  8. Compliance with Local Laws:
    • Participants are responsible for ensuring that their participation in the contest complies with all applicable local laws and regulations in their respective countries.
  9. Submission and Selection of Semi-Finalists: The Contest will accept Messages for consideration. Out of all the submissions, 100 semi-finalists (“Semi-Finalists”) will be selected by the Contest organizers based on the quality, originality, and adherence to the guidelines of the Messages.
  10. Publication in “Messages to the King” Book: The Semi-Finalists will be informed that their Messages will be considered for publishing in the book titled “Messages to the King” (“Book”). However, being selected as a Semi-Finalist does not guarantee inclusion in the Book.
  11. Selection of Finalists: From the pool of Semi-Finalists, 75 Messages will be chosen as finalists (“Finalists”) by the Contest organizers. The selection will be based on further evaluation of the Messages’ content and suitability for inclusion in the Book.
  12. Notification and Publication: The Semi-Finalists will be notified via email regarding their selection status as Finalists and whether their Messages will be published in the Book. The notification will occur on the day of the Book’s launch.
  13. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions for Finalists: Before the final Messages are chosen for inclusion in the Book, the Semi-Finalists selected as Finalists will be required to re-confirm their acceptance of these Terms. The Contest organizers may provide updates or changes to the Terms, and the Finalists must agree to the updated Terms to remain eligible for consideration.
  14. Rights and Intellectual Property: By participating in the Contest and submitting a Message, you grant the Contest organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish your Message in connection with the Contest and the Book. However, the Contest organizers will not claim ownership of your Message’s intellectual property rights.
  15. Changes and Amendments: The Contest organizers reserve the right to modify, amend, or cancel the Contest or any part of it at any time and for any reason. Such changes will be communicated to the participants via the Contest’s official website or other appropriate means.
  16. Privacy and Data Usage: Participants’ personal information collected during the Contest will be handled in accordance with the Contest’s Privacy Policy.
  17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], and any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Your Jurisdiction].
  18. Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the participants and the Contest organizers concerning the Contest and the Book, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether oral or written.

By participating in the Contest, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms. Failure to comply with these Terms will result in disqualification from the Contest.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CHARITY PARTICIPATION IN “MESSAGES TO THE KING”

  1. By participating in this project, the Charity agrees to the following terms:” Participation and Verification: a. The Charity agrees to participate in the “Messages to the King” book project and provide the Author with relevant information, stories, and accounts of individuals associated with the Charity (“Charity’s People”). b. The Charity shall make reasonable efforts to verify the authenticity and accuracy of the information provided about the Charity’s People to the best of their abilities.  
  2. Royalties and Damages: a. The Charity acknowledges that they shall hold no claim or right to any royalties or compensation from the Author, the Publisher, or any other party involved in the book project. b. The Charity shall not hold the Author responsible for any damages or consequences arising from the content or inclusion of their story or the Charity’s People in the book.
  3. Compliance with Rules and Guidelines: a. The Charity agrees to abide by all the rules, guidelines, and requirements set out by the organizers of the “Messages to the King” book project. b. The Charity shall ensure that all information provided adheres to ethical standards and does not violate any legal obligations or intellectual property rights.
  4. Communication and Exposure: a. The Charity’s People featured in the book may be subject to further communication by the Author, the Publisher, or associated media outlets for interviews, follow-ups, and additional details. b. The Charity agrees to support press releases, photo opportunities, and social media exposure related to the “Messages to the King” book project. c. The Charity understands that their involvement may bring increased exposure to the Charity’s mission and activities.
  5. Consent and Permission: a. The Charity warrants that they have obtained appropriate consent and permission from their People to be featured in the book and be part of the project. b. The Charity agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Author and the Publisher from any claims, disputes, or legal actions arising from a lack of proper consent or permissions.
  6. Honor and Privilege: a. The Charity acknowledges that being listed in the “Messages to the King” book is an honor and privilege. b. The Charity agrees to promote their involvement in the book within reasonable limits to celebrate the recognition.
  7. Ownership and Use of Content: a. The Author and the Publisher shall have the exclusive right to use, reproduce, distribute, and modify the content related to the Charity’s involvement in the book project for promotional and publishing purposes. b. The Charity retains ownership of their original content shared with the Author.
  8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your Country, and any disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of your Country.

By participating in the “Messages to the King” book project, the Charity agrees to the terms and conditions stated herein. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Charity and the Author concerning the project.
